gala_applesSo day five of Snowflake is SUPER in my wheelhouse. As shocks no one, I am a multi-shipper with more fandoms than I can count. IE: I did the 25 fics for 25 fandoms challenge for Kink Bingo when it was running, and I'm doing it a second time over Amnesty with a communal card. Some fandoms are obvious forerunners- bandom, HP, Skins, Buffy, Xmen, Avengers, MacDonald Hall, they're staple fandoms that each took a turn being a main fandom of my fannish lifespan. But I'm always looking for something new and random to write. In my opinion if I get to the end of a book, tv show, or movie and a voice in my head isn't going is there fic for this the creator hasn't done their job.
And honestly, if there aren't at least two background characters that have chemistry I consider it bad writing. I don't care if it's hatesex, manipulative sex, best friends, once-while-drunk, totally soulmates, I want to ship people with more people. Generally speaking though, the more the better. Like Skins. I can't think of a hookup combo I WOULDN'T read. Or hell, HP. Justin Finch Fletchly/everyone!
This is a bit of a cheat, because I'm not providing links to finished fics. But my to-do list is so long, and my WIP list is even longer, and I made a resolution to finish things before starting new things. So in lieu of full fic, have synopses for three new fandom fics for squares on my KB table.
SPOILERS FOR PERCY JACKSON, CHRONICLE, AND TRUEBLOOD
1) Percy Jackson for drugs/aphrodisiacs. This is firmly in movie-verse. Partly because I've placed a hold on the quintet at the library, but they haven't come in yet, so I don't have the canon for bookverse. Mostly because I've been informed in the first book Percy is twelve, and that REALLY DOESN'T WORK with my idea. Because in the movie they're all old enough to drive. And they go to vegas and eat this lotus drug that makes them lose their inhibitions/drive to finish their quest. And the three think they're there for a few hours but it's actually been three days. And the MC and the girl are already crushing on each other, and the MC has his best friend there. SO IT'S SUPER OBVIOUS THEY HAVE SEX WILL HIGH AND LUSTY. And this doesn't work if they're twelve. So yay for movie-verse.
2) Chronicle for virginity. Because Andrew is bullied as hell, and abused by his dad. And then he and his cousin and a jock do something incredibly stupid and manage to get superpowers from it. And he's got friends for the first time in his life. And then they make fun of him for being a virgin, and then Steve puts him in a position to fuck a girl, but he gets nervous and pukes and the girl leaves. Andrew withdraws and the next time his dad beats him he gets so angry Steve accidentally dies, and then Matt blames him, and Andrew snaps. From there it's basically a Dark Phoenix situation, what you imagine happens when a telekinetic person happens to be a sociopath.
AND WHAT DID I TAKE FROM THE WHOLE SECOND HALF? That some people are sociopaths? OF COURSE NOT. What IIII took is that if Steve and Matt had seduced Andrew when he first admitted to being a virgin, then he wouldn't have gone all crazy, and a lot less people would have died.
3) True Blood for bodily secretions. Because I love the way they all get dirty dreams from drinking each other's blood. Especially that one time Jason dreamed about fucking Hoyt. And I ship Jason/Hoyt/Jessica. That and Erik/Sookie/Bill are the obvious solutions that everyone was too stupid to try.
